Join Fellow Alumni and Parents for a Night of Service!

Philabundance, the region’s largest hunger relief organization, distributes more than 30 million pounds of food per year to hundreds of food pantries, shelters and other agencies that support those in need. Volunteer with us in their Hunger Relief Center, where we will be sorting and packing food for various community organizations.

All volunteers must complete two steps to register:

1. Visit http://philabundance.volunteerhub.com. Click “Sign In” in the upper right hand corner and follow the steps to sign in or create an account if you don’t already have one.

  • When creating a login, you will be asked to enter our group’s join code: 234589. If you already have a volunteer account from a prior volunteer experience, and cannot enter our join code, please contact the volunteer department.
  • After you create an account, click on the “Events” page and scroll down to find our volunteer shift: Tuesday, May 2 (6 – 8:30 p.m.). Click the green “Sign Up” button and complete your registration. Each volunteer will receive a confirmation email from Philabundance with further instructions.

2. Once you have completed the sign-up process with Philabundance, please e-mail Philadelphia Chapter member Kara LaFleur ’06 to let her know you have registered. It is important that you contact Kara so we are able to track how many volunteers we have in our Fairfield group and make sure we are adequately filling our shift.

A few items to note:

  • Dress Code: Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops allowed). Volunteers may be working in a refrigerator or freezer with produce or meat, so wearing pants and dressing in layers is recommended. Jackets and gloves will be provided if needed.
  • Volunteers must be 16 years or older -- or 14 with adult supervision.
  • On-site parking is available at the Hunger Relief Center.

If you have any questions, please contact Philadelphia Chapter Team member Kara LaFleur ’06 or call the Office of Alumni Relations at (203) 254-4280.
